A question that every Christian needs to answer. I am going to let scripture speak for itself by giving you 6 facts from Scripture.
Fact 1: The Bible is our spiritual FOOD.
1 Peter 2 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
1 Corinthians 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
Hebrews 5:12-13 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe
Psalm 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
Fact 2: The Bible is or Sword to protect and purge us when needed.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Fact 3: The Bible keeps us from sin.
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Fact 4: The Bible is a light to my life and will guide me.
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Fact 5: The Bible is profitable and will teach me how to follow God.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
Fact 6: The Bible is for my Comfort.
1 Thessalonians 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. and
Psalm 119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.
My challenge to you!
