Have you ever seen a child that simply can’t seem to grasp a concept at home or at school, then all of a sudden the light turned on?
I know, it’s great right? There is nothing like a young child expressing their excitement when they finally get it. It doesn’t have to be a math problem in school or something difficult that dad is trying to teach them, it can be something so small, but they get so excited. That is what I enjoyed mostly about being a teacher.
It also works at church. As I have taught in Sunday school or for a women’s group, seeing that light bulb turn on for the first time as someone is reading God’s word, is simply amazing. As I get older and there are less “new” things for me to learn, I still get excited when the smallest thing brings to light something I may not have fully understood in the past. That light bulb moment in all of our lives is so special. There are so many times that we get that when reading God’s Word. At least there should be.
