As you read Psalm 119: 49-56 think of it as a personal prayer.

  • “God remember your promises to your servants.”

His promises that give us hope, comfort and strength to face troubles from the world around us. We will face people who will mock and try to get us to turn away from what God has said is right and true.

Hebrews 6: 17-18 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise (Christians) the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

  • “God for comfort and strengthen me when hard times come.”

John 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

  • “God to help me to remember the blessings You have for me when I serve and obey Your Word.”

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

  • “God to help me understand that I am just a pilgrim here on earth. This world is not our home I am only here for a short time!”

Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith (Old Testament Saints), not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
