I have no idea what type of person you are, but me… I am a huge journaller (not a word, but to me it is). I have written everything down since highschool; the hard times, the emotional times, the happy times, the broken times, my first break up, and so much more.
Now, I specifically have a journal for writing down all the things that God has done for me. How he has gotten me through leaving my first church due to the authority figures not leading the church appropriately, when my grandmother died, being rejected by someone I cared about and hoped to marry one day, and learning that I may never be able to have children. He has gotten me through so much that I can’t help but praise him as I write in my journal. Even though those situations were difficult, he gave me the peace and comfort I needed to get through them, and I want to remember that for the next time something comes up in my life.
If you don’t have a way to remember what God has done for you, maybe start a journal for yourself this week. I promise you, when you look back and see God’s amazing grace in your personal life, you will never again doubt him.
