“Give me understanding, that I may learn your commandments.”
Have you asked for understanding?
The eight verses in Jod give you four lessons.
First, you are to remember where you came from – God made you!
Second, are you a willing servant, a bond servant? This is a servant by choice not obligation. As Paul stated in Romans 1:1. As a servant you are instructed to learn the commandments, meditate on God’s precepts, and keep your heart sound” (have integrity).
Third, God will answer your prayer for understanding. He will work in your life through His judgements, faithfulness, kindness, and mercies. Oftentimes these will come in the form of trials and/or outside influences, aka, friends, family, co-workers, bosses, and even your own thoughts. But as you apply what you have learned, you develop what is called a Christian Walk or Testimony. Others will begin to see a difference in your life.
Fourth, as your understanding of God’s guidelines (percepts) grows you are then given hope, comfort, and life.
John 10:10b I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Is the Christian life always easy? NO, but I can whole heartly testify the blessing definitely are greater than the struggles.
