How to begin telling you about Jesus Chris is an intimidating thought…where do I begin?

I am going to summarize 6 things about Jesus Christ briefly.

Perfect Man

Jesus was born and has a birthday just like you and me. He grew up as a normal boy with a mom and dad, and brothers and sisters. (The Bible never tells us exactly how many siblings, but Mark 6:3 mentions 4 brothers and at least 2 sisters – Imagine how it would have been growing up with a perfect older brother!?!). Jesus experienced the same things we do. He grew weary, needed sleep, got hungry, suffered pain, BUT Jesus never sinned.

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest (Jesus) which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

God in human flesh

Many times, Jesus stated that He was God and even used the “I am” statement when speaking of Himself.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one. John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. The Jews understood that Jesus was saying He was God –

John 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. Jesus disciple

Thomas stated John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Born of a Virgin

As a fulfillment of the prophecy in Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Mary was with child before “coming together” with Joseph

Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Died a Physical Death

Jesus died physically on the cross and stated, “It is finished.” John 19:30.

But what was FINISHED? The work of SALAVTION.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Galatians 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law (you and me), that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Resurrected from the dead

John 20:1-31 gives us details about the day Jesus Christ resurrected. After His resurrection, Jesus was seen by many people including Mary Magdalene, His disciples, and eight days later to the disciples, again, and by Thomas. 1 Corinthians 15: 6- 8 The apostle Paul gives us another list of many more people, including himself, who saw the resurrected Christ!

Jesus’ resurrection provided our justification and gives us an eternal hope!

Romans 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Jesus Is Coming Again

One day Jesus will return to earth; until then, we have a blessed hope.

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Do you have that blessed hope?
