This is usually the time of year when everyone is itching for a vacation. It is cold outside and no good holiday breaks in sight. And for us Northerners, we are going stir-crazy being stuck in our homes because of the negative degree weather. Vacation sounds like a wonderful escape, but also a mere dream.

In our christian lives, we can get this way as well. We go through life, doing the same things day in and day out, and we simply need a break. We need to simply get away from all the “norm” and experience a different part of the world.

Sometimes, we may even need a vacation from our church. “How can you say that? That’s terrible! You should never be tired of God’s chuch!” But at times we do. Now, I am not saying to leave the church and go somewhere to indulge in sin. No! But sometimes visiting another church can give you a new and refreshed view of your own church family. A lot of times we don’t know what we have, until we take that little time away. And that is ok.

So are you needing a vacation?
