As a kid one of my favorite memories was going to church camp and singing camp songs around the campfire with dozens of other people. The guitars would be played by people of all ages and the night air would be filled with sweet voices praising God. I couldn’t have been more that a year the first time I went to church camp. I don’t remember all the details from that young of an age, but through the years I can remember those special nights around the fire. Even as an adult, I still believe that there is something special when God’s people come together and sing his praises.
If your church is providing a church camp this summer, make a point to go. Or if not, then find a place that does and go. Spending time with others in God’s beautiful nature is special. Plus, the Christian walk is all about growing together in fellowship and what is better than sitting around a campfire singing praises and eating smores. Nothing.
