Assurance – Guarantee, Certainty, Promise, Pledge, Vow, Secure – without a doubt!
Why is this so important? Because we have an enemy that wants to rob you of the joy, confidence, comfort, and stability that comes with knowing once saved ALWAYS SAVED!!!
Satan is going to try to get you to doubt you are saved! He is going to make you wonder if you really are a Christian. He will place thoughts in your mind making you think “I don’t feel any different, nothing really happened.”
When it happens, and it will, what will your answer be?
Many Christians base their assurance of being saved on emotions, feeling “saved” but REMEMBER we have more than feelings to go on we have the WORD OF GOD.
God SAID it! (Jesus to be specific) and God cannot lie.
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
God PROMISED it!
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
You came to Christ when you accepted God’s free gift of salvation. He will not cast you out.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
God’s PRESENCE is with you!
The moment you accepted Christ as your Savior you were given the Holy Spirit and became a member of His family.
Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Romans 8: 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
One verse says it all.
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
If that is not enough…Jesus himself said…
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
NOW MAKE IT PERSONAL!
— every place there is a blank put your name there and then memorize it!
These things have I written unto ___________ that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ___________ may know that ___________ have eternal life, and that ___________ may believe on the name of the Son of God.
And I give unto ___________ eternal life; and ___________ shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck ___________ out of my hand.
*** REMEMBER, your salvation is based on believing God’s promises, not your feelings!
I am sure you are thinking, “What if I sin?” Well, that is going to happen the Bible even tells us we will.
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
But, God knew that and the next verse tells us how to handle our sin.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
When you sin as Christians, you do not lose your salvation, but there are consequences. Just as a parent might discipline a child for misbehaving our Heavenly Father will do the same to us. We only need to ask God to forgive our sins and bring us back into fellowship with Him.
As a child of God, you can NEVER be separated from Him.
Romans 8: 38-38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Your salvation is FOREVER SECURE IN CHRIST!!!
Your Sister in Christ,
Cora
