Today is a work day for me and my wonderful husband, even though it is a Saturday. We both have jobs that we do during the week, but today we both have home work that we need to catch up on, like me writing posts for the blog.

Even as I sit here writing, I am reminded about how busy we can allow our lives to get, that we forget to live. I actually had a conversation about this with one of my clients this week. We can get so focused on providing for our necessities that we forget to live in the moment.

My dad grew up in a generation where you work, work, work, because you had to provide for your families. But now that he is retired, and in his 70s, he is realizing that he can’t do as much as he could have done in his 20s and 30s. So all those years that he spent working, he wishes that he could have spent a little more time living.

Don’t allow the business of life keep you from living it. Yes, working hard is important and necessary, but when you are home try your hardest to spend time living, because you don’t want to be like my dad and look back at all the years you missed.
