Have you ever been told “Be reasonable?”

Most of us think that “Be reasonable” means to act or think in a fair and sensible way, based on facts not emotions. Often can mean choosing an action that is doable and makes sense.

As a Christian we are charged in the book of Romans to give “your reasonable service.”

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Let us answer the following questions?

  1. What fair and reasonable actions are we to do?
  2. Based on what facts?
  3. How is it doable?
  4. Why does it make sense?

Can you play and instrument? Can you sing? Are you good with kids? Do you enjoy cleaning? Do you enjoy talking to people? So many of our talents can be used to help others learn about the Gospel and the many blessing that God freely gives.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: – We are to guide others to Christ, whether it is handing out a track, asking someone to come to Church, or just being a person who shows kindness and compassion to people who are brokenhearted.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Ephesians 2:19-22 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

God has given you talents. He gave you salvation. He has chosen you to guide others to him. He calls you, “His child.”

It is your choice will you “BE REASONABLE?”
