Will you connect with God?
Vau -Psalm 119: 41-48, you see God connecting with us and us in turn connecting with Him through the power of His Word.
The psalmist makes two requests from the Lord.
- Verse 41 – Lord send us your mercy. Why a request for mercy? We can do nothing to earn salvation it is only through God’s given mercy. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
- Verse 43 – Lord never take your Word from us. Why do we need God’s Word? Because it is the foundation of our faith. It offers direction, comfort, truth, and a guide to living a godly life. By the way this has already been answered by Christ Himself. Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
God has fulfilled the two requests so…
Are you willing to put in some work to follow the Psalmist example with six “I will” actions.
- I will answer
- I will obey
- I will walk
- I will speak
- I will delight
- I will mediate
Doing these “I will” actions will require some work on our part. To put it simply, how can you do something if you don’t know what it is you are supposed to be doing?
How do you learn? By attending a good Bible-believing and preaching church, daily bible reading, prayer, and fellowship with other like-minded believers.
