Over the past 6 months I have shared with you 12 “stones” that were essential to my growth as a young Christian.

  1. Death and its consequence
  2. Church/Religion
  3. My Sin
  4. God’s Love for ME
  5. Doubts – Eternally Saved
  6. New Life as a Christian
  1. Seeking Truth
  2. Fulfillment in Christ
  3. God Direction
  4. Dedication to the Lord
  5. God’s Will not mine
  6. Step of Faith

Those events shaped my path and lead me to a life of service to the Lord. Time to begin the work. I am able to humbly say that I have been blessed serving the Lord for over 36 years. (Ok, I know I am aging myself!) Has it always been easy? No, but the Lord never said it would be.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Throughout the years, I have clung to a couple of verses that have always given me a great hope. The fact that Christ promises to never leave me – US.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Those two verses cover everything that we could possibly encounter during our life time.

I have had times in my life where I wanted to say – “I am done!”  Everyone will have “stones” throughout our life that will cause us to doubt, stumble, fall or want to quit. But the Lord will be there! We have nothing to fear!

Isaiah 41:10  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

You are probably thinking, “That is easy for you to say,” but I have seen the faithfulness of God – even when I was unfaithful. Christian, when the tough time comes, and they will, remember God loves you! You are His child! He wants what is best for you even when you may not know what that is yourself. Trust Him, open yourself up to His path for your life and you WILL be blessed.

I hope that by sharing some of my early “stones” you have been encouraged and challenged to keep moving along the path the God has set before you. As I continue down my life’s path, I will share more of the “stones” I have faced and what I have learned by going through them. My hope is that through my experiences, you might be able to avoid some of the mistakes that I have made and make your life’s pathway just a bit smoother.
